Building the Infrastructure for Global Mathematical Knowledge

The International Mathematics Knowledge Trust (IMKT) coordinates open, standardized, and machine-readable frameworks to connect the world’s mathematical literature.

Established to advance the vision of a Global Digital Mathematics Library (GDML), the IMKT brings together mathematicians, librarians, publishers, and computer scientists. By addressing the technical and structural fragmentation of historical and contemporary literature, the IMKT facilitates shared metadata standards, semantic indexing, and sustainable access for the global research community.

Primary Objectives

  • Interoperability & Integration: Developing common standards to connect isolated archives, journal repositories, and mathematical databases into a single searchable network.
  • Semantic & Computational Infrastructure: Supporting the transition toward machine-readable literature, formal proof verification, and advanced digital indexing across the corpus.
  • Open Access & Sustainability: Partnering with international mathematical bodies to support open-access frameworks that ensure research remains accessible to the global scientific community.

Some resources are available through the IMKT's Math Portal , with searchable lists sorted by institutions, Mathematical Subject Classification (MSC) codes, and special topics, as well as links to many other lists, documents and sites that contribute to the world pursuit of mathematics.

Help us shape the future of digital mathematics.
